Marketing Intern

Start your marketing career with Kapita’s three-engine ecosystem. Our 3-month, Baghdad-based internship offers hands-on content creation, social-media management, event promotion, and data-driven analytics—all while empowering Iraq’s startup community.

KAPITA is a private sector development company that aims to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through investment, research, incubation/acceleration, and market development programs.

In order to upgrade the Iraqi ecosystem, KAPITA is working on new startups development, helping established Iraqi startups small businesses to scale their (market, production, and evaluation), as well as personal development for entrepreneurs. KAPITA is taking the next logical step, by starting the first incubator and accelerator in Baghdad that hosts the most promising startups, providing them with seed funds, infrastructure and business services, financing and public relations. We will support the community by enhancing the entrepreneurial movement, building youth capacity, and feeding the private sector with human resources and knowledge-based, well-planned successful businesses.

We aim to be the institute that forms the core engine in developing the private sector in Iraq, we believe that to accelerate the growth of ecosystems and Entrepreneurs, there must be a core engine that grows fast in order to cause overall growth and development to take Iraqi startups and small businesses to the next level

 

  1. Position Summary 

The Marketing Intern supports Kapita’s Marketing & Communications team in planning, executing, and monitoring campaigns that promote Kapita’s three-engine strategy (Research, Business Hub, and Tech). The role provides hands-on experience in content creation, social-media management, event promotion, and basic performance analytics.

  1.  Duration & Location

Commitment: 3 months (extendable to 6 months based on performance)

Location: Baghdad HQ (hybrid); exceptional candidates may work remotely within Iraq


  1. Objectives
  • Boost brand awareness of Kapita’s three entities through engaging, consistent messaging.
  • Strengthen Kapita’s digital presence across priority channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook).
  • Support data-driven decision-making by tracking and reporting key marketing metrics.
  • Gain practical skills in campaign planning, copy-writing, and marketing analytics.


  1.  Key Responsibilities

 Content Creation

  • Draft short-form posts, captions, and newsletter snippets in English & Arabic
  • Suggest relevant hashtags and calls to action (CTAs)
  • Adapt press releases into bite-sized content


Social Media Management

  • Schedule posts via Meta Business Suite or Hootsuite
  • Respond to comments and DMs under supervision
  • Research trending topics and recommend content ideas


Campaign Support

  • Assist in preparing assets for product launches, events, and webinars
  • Coordinate with designers to ensure brand consistency
  • Help set up paid ads (define audience, budget, and test creatives)


Performance Tracking

  • Compile weekly KPI dashboards (reach, engagement, CTR, leads)
  • Extract insights from performance data
  • Flag anomalies or highlight growth opportunities


Event Promotion

  • Draft promotional emails, landing page copy, and event signage text
  • Capture event photos and videos
  • Liaise with media outlets for event coverage
  1.  Learning & Development
  • Mentorship sessions with senior marketers
  • Access to Kapita Tech learning resources (Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, basic GA4 dashboards)
  • Opportunity to pitch and own a micro-campaign from concept to report-out


  1. Required Qualifications
  • Final-year undergraduate or fresh graduate in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
  • Strong writing skills in English and Modern Standard Arabic; Iraqi dialect a plus
  • Familiarity with Instagram, LinkedIn, and Meta Ads Manager
  • Basic understanding of Canva or Adobe Express; bonus points for Adobe CC
  • Proficiency in MS Excel or Google Sheets for simple data analysis

  1. Working Hours & Compensation
  • Hours: 30 hours/week (flexible schedule around academic commitments)
  • Stipend: Competitive local intern stipend, plus on-site perks (workspace, events, mentorship)
  • Certificate of completion and letter of recommendation provided upon successful internship
